About us:
Garnham Wright Associates are registered architects and interior design consultants and were founded by Jack Garnham Wright in 1973. The practice is now run by two partners and has a wealth of experience on a wide range of construction projects. Our office is located near Shaftesbury, Dorset. We undertake projects in Dorset, Wiltshire, Somerset, Cornwall, and throughout the UK. We have also worked on a number of projects in Europe and are currently working for clients in Ireland and France.
What we do:
As chartered members of the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) we can provide all the normal services of an architect and manage your project from inception to building completion.
We are also happy to provide partial services to assist you with your project at any stage of the design and construction process. We place great emphasis on good design and careful planning to ensure the project is successfully tailored to your needs and we will work closely with you, with other consultants where appointed and with the builder to achieve the best possible results for you.
We have particular expertise in the sensitive handling of projects involving historic and listed buildings, scheduled monuments and buildings in conservation areas. Our team also maintain an up-to date interest in current trends in architectural design, sustainability and renewable energy solutions. We undertake projects including new build, conversion, restoration and refurbishment, alterations and extensions for private and commercial clients. We also work on development and housing schemes, community buildings, leisure facilities, commercial and industrial projects. Many of our projects involve architectural interior design and the detailing of bespoke joinery and furniture.
Services provided:
- Establishing a brief for the project and carrying out feasibility studies
- Preparing outline designs for discussion with the client and for initial meetings and submissions to the Planning Authority
- Preparing scheme design drawings and specifications
- Submitting planning and listed building applications
- Preparing detailed design drawings suitable for submitting for Building Regulations Approval
- Preparing working drawings for construction
- Tender and negotiations with builders and administering the works on-site
In addition we can provide measured surveys, structural condition surveys, historical record drawings and special reports to accompany planning and listed building submissions and detailed design and specifications for interior finishes and fittings including special architectural features and loose furniture where required.
